Tucson Birth Photographer | Smith
the most common question I receive from inquiring mom’s is “how do you know you’ll make it?” – I don’t.
There’s absolutely no way to predict when a baby will decide to come, how long it could take, or when the best time to arrive is. All of those unknown’s were absolutely the most nerve-wracking part about accepting this Tucson birth story.
It was momma’s third baby, which we all know can be wild cards. As well as just about two hours away from me. I was so worried I wouldn’t make it in time. Luckily (for me, not for mom) baby happened to be stubborn and wanted nothing to do with coming out of his safe place.
After an induction date was set it was much more reassuring for all of us that I would most likely be present, and I was – obviously. This mom labored so amazingly, she opted out of an epidural, but did decide to try nitrous oxide throughout the end/transitioning phases of labor.
Let me tell you, birth is INTENSE – but the ones who can do it un-medicated truly deserve trophies, because it’s incredible. It makes me really put into perspective how wimpy I am, lol.
Congratualtions Smith family on your newest addition, he’s absolutely perfect; and momma, you did incredible bringing that baby earthside!
