Scottsdale Birth + Newborn Photographer | A Year in Review

Scottsdale Birth + Newborn Photographer | A Year in Review

I can’t believe this year is already coming to an end over. Is anyone else totally blown away with how quickly this year went by?! My favorite part about the year wrapping up is reflecting on everything throughout the year as a Scottsdale Birth + Newborn Photographer. All the accomplishments, growth, and struggles.

This has been my favorite year as a Scottsdale Birth + Newborn Photographer this far, and I’m so excited to see what comes from 2020. I’ve seen so much growth in my work this year, and if you’re a photographer you know how amazing it is to finally find “your style” and settle in with it.

I’ve been at this for almost four years and I can very happily say I have found my style, and I LOVE that people reach out to book me just because of that. As for my goals as a Scottsdale Birth + Newborn Photographer in 2020 – I’m really trying to focus on birth, fresh 48’s, and newborn sessions. My heart is really pushing me to these sessions, and as much as I love maternity, cake smashes, and family sessions I will be limiting the amount I take on. I’m trying to leave my calendar open for the sessions that speak to my soul.

When 2018 wrapped up I was seriously considering taking maternity and cake smash sessions off my booking list, but I decided to leave them and see how the year played out – and I’m so glad I did. I’ve had so much fun with them this past year. So, I definitely won’t be getting rid of them, but I will be limiting it.

Family sessions will be available September – February, I will no longer be accepting family sessions in the summer – for the sanity of myself and clients. No one wants to be shooting when it’s 120 degrees. This doesn’t include maternity sessions, obviously we can’t work around the summer for those.

As for cake smash sessions, I’m only taking four per month. I really use cake smashes as a creative outlet, and having them on top of births and newborn sessions I’m very limited on time I can put into them.

Birth stories I will be accepting no more than three per month. Since I’m tentatively on call for five weeks per session, I don’t have time to take on more right now with my own little ones at home.

So, that’s it – that’s my plan for 2020. I can’t wait to see old clients, and new clients, in the new year. I hope you guys had an amazing holiday season!
