Phoenix Newborn Photographer |Harper

truth: in over two and a half years as a newborn photographer I’ve never, ever, used peach. like, why?!

how stinkin’ pretty is this color!

and, let’s not forget to talk about how gorgeous this little lady is! those perfect little cheeks – I’m a sucker. But, I really do think this color was absolutely perfect for her skin tone – sometimes babies can “blend in” with peaches and pinks, but she totally rocked it.

also, that dead center middle picture – those teeny little baby rolls. how yummy is that!

I love that as parents, we swoon over these images – I always wonder when these babies are teenagers, if they’re going to be like what. the. heck.
–and then the cycle will repeat when they have their own babies, lol

so moms-to-be, it’s okay not to choose pink or purple for your baby girl – I promise other colors look good to; like blues and greens – they look absolutely stunning on girls! Who would have thought. 🙂

If you’re searching for a photographer within the Phoenix area, please contact me to schedule your session today. All newborn sessions take place at my in-home studio located in North Phoenix. I have a variety of props, all of which are available to use in your session.

this birth story is one for the books; "My due da this birth story is one for the books;

"My due date was January 16, and while I knew it was unlikely baby would show up on this arbitrary “due date”, I still felt discouraged to wake up still pregnant. We went through our day visiting Holly’s growing farm, and I felt off and strange all day. I took a small nap at her house, and when driving home, kept complaining that I felt uncomfortable and was having lower back pain. I took a nap when we got home for about 4 hours to try and find some relief.
I woke up around 9 pm and decided to try a shorter version of the Miles Circuit to try and engage baby. Nick and I enjoyed some time together and by around 11:45, I started questioning some of the feelings in my lower abdomen. The sensations were developing a pattern at about 7-15 minutes apart, but were very mild and felt no different than a typical period cramp. I let Nick know around midnight that I was possibly feeling contractions and advised him to get off the Xbox and head to bed soon (which he, of course, didn’t do.) I texted my midwife to give her a heads up and even though I was filled with anticipation on whether this was the start of my birth, she advised me to get some rest. Just before 4 am, I could no longer sleep through the waves. They were about 4 minutes apart and were still manageable, but within the next hour and a half, had grown to about 2 minutes apart and were lasting about 45-60 seconds. Around 5:30, I called my mom to ask if she could come over and lay down with Harper because I was feeling like I needed Nick’s support soon. At around 6, my mom showed up, and I soon woke up Nick to say that I thought today was the day. I felt like I wanted some fresh air, so I put on a jacket and asked him to go for a walk with me. He was a little panicked at my request and was insisting that we call the midwife and blow up the birth tub, but I was still convinced that this was early labor. When he decided to time the contractions, he told me that they were much closer together than the last time I contacted my midwife, so he called her to give her the update. Our midwife, Brea, agreed that it sounded like a significant change and started to.. (go to comments)

something you'll barely ever see on my feed is lif something you'll barely ever see on my feed is lifestyle stuff; I never ever shoot it, just because it's not my style. but this momma was a birth client of mine a couple years ago, and I was supposed to be there for this sweet girls birth too. but ya know, covid. so we did a lifestyle fresh 48 when they got home from the hospital, and they're just the cutest little family. I'm so happy I could document those first few moments as a family of five <3
